Eruption (Live)- Duet by Nina D (electric violin) and Jason Neubauer (guitar) w/Femmes of Rock- Van Halen Cover Nina’s Notes: 🎶 For those of you who have been following my Eruption journey: Many of you who have been to our Femmes of Rock shows know that we’ve mostly robbed the guitarist of performing cool solos (because we play them on violins), and they are somewhat relegated to rhythm/ backing duties. This is in no way reflective of our guitarists’ abilities, as we are lucky to play with incredibly talented performers. The one spot that we have featured the guitar, for years, was on Eruption during our live shows. After I learned it, we decided to try it out as a duet (at least until we work another big guitar feature into the show). It also gave me a backup plan for the first performance in the event my sounds gave us trouble in a live setting. Anyone with musical experience knows that when you record something into a DAW in a controlled setting, the result of the same sounds can be drastically different when performing through a large arena PA. I had some concerns about that going into my “first large scale performance” of Eruption. On the first day of performance, in Elmira, everything sounded great in sound check and then for no particular reason my tapping sound issued a great deal of feedback during the show. The second performance, in Jamestown, I tweaked the sound a bit, and everything went great. Here is the first unobstructed live performance of Eruption, as a duet with virtuoso guitarist Jason Neubauer! Please keep in mind this is cell phone audio (not a board recording), so it sounded much cooler in person!
