The EFF allegedly received about R16 million in donations from the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank. This is according to an affidavit submitted by former VBS chairperson, Tshifhiwa Matodzi. Matodzi has been sentenced to an effective 15-year imprisonment after he entering into a plea agreement, pleading guilty to several charges that related to the collapse of the bank.
