The resolved cadence I briefly mentioned was the entering into a major key for a split second, resolving in a major rather than sticking to the minor that we were in. So the flattening of a note that we didn't hear was actually the third note rising a semitone, making it a major chord rather than a minor! Hope that makes sense.
