Recently I was asked what it means to survive as a White Belt in BJJ. The question comes from a new White Belt who hears "you need to survive" all the time in his Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes. So I answer the question and talk about the idea of surviving during practice with skill and technique but also surviving through the rough part of learning a new skill. Learning a new skill is tough, it's never easy, and I explain 1 of the mental road blocks that happens with people and how to work through it.
