Its ancient name was Kashi - the city of light, and is often known as Shiva's city Rudravaas! Varanasi is also one of the oldest living cities in the world and a trip here can change your life. I’ve been to Varanasi many times, and this time I took my family along, especially my mother who’s always been keen to visit the place and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Of course, we did a lot during our four-day stay there - ate some amazing local food, spent a lot of time on the ghats, explored local stories, visited Sarnath and immersed ourselves in this city of light.
