Trains in Los Angeles and Ventura County (Railfanning in the year of 2020)

Hi everyone, so I know the year of 2020 wasn’t really the best year for everyone including those in the railroad industry. However, during this time I did manage to catch quite a good amount of train action including a few unexpected surprises along the way. It’s here where I got the chance to see both freight and passenger trains throughout both Ventura and Los Angeles County in various locations including Amtrak’s Coast Starlight heading to and coming from Seattle, Washington. It’s also worth pointing out that around this time, Metrolink was in the process of retiring the vast majority of their F59PH and F59PHI locomotive fleet as more and more of the EMD F125 locomotives continued to enter service on many of their trains with the exception of a few EMD F59PHR locomotives that still remained in-service. From there, the rest of the older F59 locomotives could and still can be seen in the Keller Yard just a few miles from Los Angeles Union Station with an undetermined fate.
