On the evening of January 30th, 2024, the Wife and I made this spontaneous decision to spend 2 nights and 2 days in Joshua Tree National Park so that we could do some hiking. We threw some food and water in the Honda and took off at 10PM. We arrived in the BLM lands south of the entrance and dispersed camped (for those that don't know, this is free camping, with no running water, bathrooms. Just a lot of freedom and privacy). This was a great way to start our trip. We didn't have to worry about morning rush hour traffic, we were right where we needed to be. We did the Heart Rock / Arch Rock hike, Halls of Horror and the Barker Dam Hike.
