Written in 1957 by Lawton Williams and first recorded by Bobby Helms, who had a number one hit in the Top Country Charts., where it stayed 52 weeks and even crosssed the Pop charts (peak #32). Since then a lot of artists have covered it, to name a few: Willie Nelson, David Allen Coe, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley... It's said that back then in Texas if you played live music you had to do this song! I thought it was fun to record this, because the title of course is German and means "Miss" as you all know I suppose. In German it's written "Fräulein" btw. - and I sing it as I would not speak German as my native language but in the style it was originally written. I thought of singing the German "Fräulein" whenever it comes, but I think this way it has more charm. I wish you all a great weekend!
