‘MOONGLADE in Jet Black’ is the opening track of the album OCULUS. I wanted to start the album journey in neutral ‘black’ as the album is inspired by the vividly descriptive colours the Oculus Ensemble’s conductor Jessica Cottis sees through her colour synaesthesia when conducting. ‘… in Jet Black’ actually refers to the key that ‘MOONGLADE in Jet Black’ is written in. Featuring acclaimed percussionist Joby Burgess on space harp, the Her Ensemble led by Ellie Consta, Camilla Pay on harp, Julie Cooper on piano, with the Oculus Ensemble strings led by Clio Gould and conducted by Jessica Cottis. Produced by Jonathan Allen. Recorded at Masterchord Studio, London.
