How did I get here? | Nag Ashwin | TEDxNITW

Mr. Nag Ashwin chose to speak about choices and their consequences by quoting references from his life. He was born into a family dominated by doctors, his choice of trying his hand out at something different was a bold one. It eventually led him to work in the water business, advertising and other professions. But nothing seemed appealing. He only had one criteria for his occupation: to spread life and positivity. And filmmaking fit perfectly into that mould. After multiple rejections, he wrote the script of ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ and decided to go for it. That's where his career began. Tinged with humor and hidden philosophies on how to lead life, Mr. Nag Ashwin’s talk hits home. A unique filmmaking talent to grace the Telugu film industry in recent times, Nag Ashwin, stands out from the typical cinema. His directorial debut, Yevvade Subramanyam, was well received due to it's relatable story line. Mahanati - a biopic of Savitri, is his recent hit. It caused waves of sentiment and controversy in it's wake. Ashwin staunchly believes that in today's world, we all fight the fire, we solve a problem, simply because it exists and the same one might pop up again. According to him, dealing with the real cause of the fire is the solution. He is an exceptional mind with the talent to portray real emotions and stories, which establish a connect with the audience while simultaneously communicating thought provoking ideas. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
