Full flight | Harbour Air DHC-6 Twin Otter | YB242 Victoria Harbour to Vancouver Harbour

Welcome aboard my first flight on a Twin Otter seaplane! Having had a fun day in Victoria, let's take you on a wonderful late afternoon and sunset flight! The Twin Otter is a development of the very successful DHC-3 Otter, a single engine piston or turboprop aircraft. It has two engines and a longer fuselage, straighter and taller tail, and an enlarged wing. From the steep runway at Lukla, Nepal, to the snow/ice-covered research base airports in Antarctica, to the super-short 400 m runway at Saba in the Caribbean, the STOL capabilities of the Twin Otter means that it is found all over the world with over 900 built. Production was restarted in 2008 with Viking Air of North Saanich, BC, enabling many essential air routes to continue using this aircraft for many decades to come. #HarbourAir Camera: GoPro Hero 8 Black Filmed on 13 March 2021 Aircraft: de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter Registration: C-GHHA MSN: 455 Engines: 2x Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-27 Seat: 1A First flight: 16 April 1975 Delivery (not taken up): Management Jets International (Nebraska) First delivery: Royal Nepal Airlines as 9N-ABM in February 1977 Transferred: lease to Tara Air on 3 January 2012 (including overhaul) First incident: collision with hydro/utility pole in Nepal, 17 July 2012 Second incident: runway excursion in Simikot, Nepal, 28 November 2017 Second delivery: Regent Aircraft Services, Calgary AB (delivered by ship) Rebuilt: March 2019 with test registration C-GIQE Converted with floats: late 2019 Third delivery: Harbour Air on 18 February 2020 Departure: Victoria Inner Harbour Airport - scheduled 17.00, actual 17.07 Arrival: Vancouver Harbour Seaplane Base - scheduled 17.35, actual 17.32 Flight time: 25 min Aircraft info: https://www.twinotterworld.com/msn-455 My Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kalung1 Twin Otter: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmWAFDnY Flight video series from my visit to Vancouver: * AC305 YUL-YVR, 1 March * YB217 CXH-YWH (Vancouver to Victoria), 13 March * YB242 YWH-CXH, 13 March (this video) * AC124 YVR-YYZ, 31 March * AC418 YYZ-YUL, 3 April * Please respect video copyrights, and unauthorised reproductions of any videos on my channel are prohibited.
