I continue to travel around and explore the many restaurants around the Mississippi Gulf Coast from Pascagoula to Gautier, Ocean Springs, D’Iberville, and Biloxi to Gulfport, Long Beach, and Pass Christian. All the way to Waveland and Pearlington. It never ceases to amaze me the number of restaurants and the quality of the food available along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My recent visit to Saltgrass Steakhouse was not the exception. Although, I feel restaurant chains, even high end chains, can often lose their charm in corporate process and policy, I found Saltgrass retains a feel and character that made the overall experience enjoyable. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Saltgrass offers a variety of food options with an emphasis on steak. Which is to be expected from a steakhouse. I chose to order a blackened redfish topped with shrimp and crawfish drizzled in a lemon butter sauce that was very good. However after ordering, I was disappointed that I did not order a steak.
