*Trigger warning* *Non-Monetized ** **For Reference Only* Please read and understand Kalief Browder's story as I briefly share it and the demo I made dedicated to him and other innocent people that lost their lives due to the impact of what occurred. It genuinely breaks my heart, brings tears to my eyes and especially if you ever been falsely accused, this brings anger and triggers trauma of being unheard during life threatening circumstances. A 3.3 million settlement does not replace a human being, an innocent soul. Especially one that has been dehumanized. This young man was not far from where I grew up in Queens, NY. He was a Bronx kid, just like some of my friends & peers in NYC. Falsely accused of a crime he did not commit; later unfortunately took his own life due to the severe trauma, wrongfully being in jail & the suffering he endured. This could have happened to anyone. When I learned about him in 2020, seen his interview, it nearly broke me. I know what it feels like to have the world against you and being misunderstood without even given a chance to explain or defend yourself without being villainized in any way. This was wrongful conviction. As I recently gone through a similar issue, years after making this demo summer of 2020, first year recording music in any studio --- Ironically being falsely accused by the very harasser who of course no justice was done towards the actual stalker/harasser How can we bring justice to the justice system? That’s not a bar, this is real life. This story genuinely makes me sad, angry and upset every time I hear about it. Brings me to tears, every single time. Whether reading about it, interviews. This shouldn’t have happened the way it did. What happened to context and having conversations instead of a rigid system of lack of comprehension, proof and lack of human rights during it all? The order of operations in the justice system is flawed and lacks clear judgement, discernment and many people’s time, energy are wasted and suffered when it definitely wasn’t necessary. How many Kalief Browders out there? His mom died later due to heart attack, which seemed to be from a literal broken heart from the injustice to her son The kid literally asked for mental health help after the attempts at his own life during prison time, unfair treatment; but was not helped or listened to. Being not listened to especially suffering from deep traumas myself and lack of an ear to hear me, breaks me even more. This would have broke anyone. This demo from July 2020, I never got to finish this song as it’s from the first studio I ever got to record in but we’re leaving as a poem and a reference for awareness. My heart goes out to and dedicated to Venida & Akeem Browder and the Browder family. May there be peace with your family, justice, awareness, brining new hope & light for others to avoid circumstances and a listening ear to those who are wrongfully unheard. Rest In Peace to Kalief Browder, to Breonna Taylor and anyone who lost their lives of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. May your souls represent light and strength onward. More life to your family & mine, and to those who need hope or a message of love. Love you, keep loving yourself and go harder in life.
