Team 2 - PianoPixel: Glove-controlled Piano

Alex Elamine, Jonathan Lei, Josue Ramirez, Sarah Mrad Pianos are large and expensive. What if we could create a smaller, portable yet finger-sensitive device that empowers anyone and everyone with portable musical creativity? We’re proud to introduce PianoPixel: a glove that allows users to play the most common musical notes on any surface, allowing users to exercise their musical creativity without the need for an actual piano. PianoPixel senses finger movements through the use of a dedicated pressure sensor on each finger. When a finger presses the glove onto a surface, pressure is detected, and the note corresponding to that finger is played from a speaker. In addition, the Adafruit Neopixel lights up with a letter corresponding to that note (C, D, E, F, or G). PianoPixel incorporates three Arduino MKR Zeros, one for the Adafruit Neopixel and two for each of the two speakers. Utilizing three separate Arduinos allows PianoPixel to play two notes at a time if users wish to do so and light up one Neopixel, all without interruption. When two notes are played, the Neopixel shows the letter of the lowest note detected, but would display a wave-like color different from the color emitted if the note was played by itself.
