Enjoy a nice trip on Montalban in scenic Lancashire, on what is a stunning and amazing railway, the West Lancashire Light Railway. Take a couple of trips along the line with multiple cameras to fully enjoy the journey. Montalban, an 0-4-0 tank+well tank, was built in 1913 by Orenstein & Koppel of Germany, works no. 6641. It spent all its working life in the Minas de Utrillas in Zaragoza, Spain. After many years working in the coal mine, it was discovered lying derelict in a small roundhouse, alongside several other locos. It arrived at the Railway in 1984, and has been fully rebuilt, with a new boiler made locally in Preston to our approved design. The west Lancashire light railway is a short line narrow gauge steam railway in the north west of England. Situated close to Preston, at Hesketh bank, it is the perfect day out for any train enthusiast or family. Tickets are really well priced and they have food and drinks too, what more could you ask for. With a large collection of steam, diesel, electric and petrol locomotives it is a fantastic chance to see a wide variety of industrial machines. Some of them are lovingly restored already, some are in 'as received' condition, which in all honesty can be as fascinating to see.
