The Hurricane was first introduced by Hrubetz in 1972. The ride was based on an older Allan Herschel design called the Saturn 6 that was first introduced in 1948. IMPORTANT: Update about Flat Ride of the Week: Flat Ride of the Week has been an integral part of this channel since its debut nearly 3 years ago. With over 50 different rides covered, the series has certainly accomplished its goal of bringing more awareness in the ride enthusiast world about flat rides. However, Flat Ride of the Week, as you know it, is being suspended indefinitely. This was an extremely hard decision to make as I generally enjoy researching and producing the series. Flat Ride of the Week has never been a very popular series for this channel. It had a strong fanbase that supported the series well, but it was never as popular as the other content I produce. Recently however, I have noticed that new episodes are getting even less views than before. In addition, when looking at my channel's overall analytics there is a sharp decline in views for my channel overall shortly after a Flat Ride of the Week episode is released. Due to this, it's simply not viable to continue producing the series at this time and production has been suspended indefinitely. Flat Rides will always have a home on this channel and the spirit of Flat Ride of the Week will live on in new ways, more information soon!
