She grew up in a typical Italian Catholic family. Initially, her conversion was a way of exploring the spiritual side of life that she felt was missing in her upbringing. However, as she continued to learn more about the religion, she found herself drawn to its teachings and values. She was particularly attracted to the sense of community and support that Islam offered, which she found to be much more meaningful than anything she had experienced before. Over time, she has come to feel a great sense of joy and satisfaction in her chosen faith, and she is passionate about sharing her story with others. In 1999 I volunteered in an orphanage in Kenya and it changed my life. I then worked in Albania with unprivileged girls and kids for 3 years. I came back to Italy and started teaching at primary school but I wasn't happy. So in 2010 I took the decision to follow my passion, not my pension. I first volunteered in Cambodia for a year, then opened a blog and travelled around South East Asia, China, Iran and Oman, always showing the lives of real locals, away from the tourist spots. My goal - my mission in life - has always been to inspire people to be brave, follow their passion, open their minds and discover the kindness of other people and cultures. #oman #islam #convertedtoislam
