Abandoned Washington Mall-Washington, PA (featuring Toys R Us and JC Penny)

Super cool mall seldom documented, despite being in an area with a lot of urban explorers. Many have chosen to document Century 3 instead but this mall is fascinating. It was built in 1968 and thrived for many years, until much of the indoor cooridoor closed in 1999, along with Giant Eagle (below former Toys R Us and Joanne Fabrics stores, where I couldn't tell what it was from a label scar). Of the outparcels and sparsely opened cooridoors, it was a slow decline. JC Penny and Joann Fabrics closed in 2014 (the latter moving to compeditor Washington Crown Centre, where it still operates) and Toys R Us closed with the company in 2018, but has since been replaced by Gabe's. 4 stores remain open in the mall; China Buffet, Harbor Freight, Staples, and Gabe's. China Buffet and Staples can trace their origins to when the mall was open. That being said, given the condition of the mall's interior I do not know if I'd feel comfortable eating at the China Buffet. Additionally, the mall used to contain a sattelite movie theatre (Carmike Cinemas), which closed in 2001 and has been demolished.
