Ultrasound Video showing Ascites, Gall Bladder Sludge, and Hepatic and Renal parenchymal disease.

This video shows Ascites, Sludge in Gall Bladder, Hepatic parenchymal disease, and Renal parenchymal disease. Gallbladder sludge, also known as biliary sand, biliary sediment, or thick bile, is a mixture of particulate matter and bile, normally seen as a liquid-liquid level in the gallbladder on ultrasound. Most people with gallbladder sludge can lead normal healthy lives. Some people may require no treatment at all. But an accurate diagnosis can rule out potentially dangerous problems, such as a pancreas infection or pancreatic cancer. Sludge develops when bile remains in the gallbladder for a too long period, as it has seen during pregnancy. Gallbladder sludge usually disappears when its cause resolves, for example, when a pregnancy ends. However, sludge can lead to the formation of gallstones or pass into the biliary tract and block the ducts. Renal parenchyma disease describes medical conditions that damage these parts of the kidney. These diseases may be congenital or acquired. Sonography is extensively used to assess the kidneys and grading of renal parenchymal changes is also used by both radiologists and nephrologists to assess the renal function. The most common causes of chronic renal failure are poorly controlled hypertension and diabetes. Causes of renal failure can also be sorted into pre-renal, renal, and post-renal.
