Thank you :)   / cmrr   Goldberg and Balsam had a large joint repertoire but recorded only four works officially, the Brahms Sonatas and Schumann's A minor Sonata. In addition there are broadcast acetates or tapes of another performance of the Schumann, Dvorak's Four Romantic Pieces and one or two encores. Their Brahms interpretations have always been well thought of, especially the more lyrical first two sonatas. The more heroic attitudes of the D minor Sonata did not come so easily, to Goldberg in particular; but all in all, these are treasurable documents of the artistry of two of the most likeable, refined musicians of their era.
