These Are The shortest E-Bike Cranks Available - Pinnd Crank Factory Tour

You might be able to get short cranks for normal bikes but as far as I know these new cranks from Scottish brand Pinnd in the 145mm are the shortest E-bike specific cranks available and it makes total sense! Shorter cranks give you loads more ground clearance for those technical climbs, they're stronger, lighter and I've even heard some people claim you get better control by having your feet closer together (like on a motorbike) and smoother pedalling due to spinning a smaller circle. With them being on an E-bike the reduced leverage doesn't necessarily mean reduced power as the motor provides it for you. I was due some new pedals so it made total sense to drive up to collect them and tie it in with the launch of this new product. I got to meet their new in-house designer Sam who is super keen to start on some new products and put these insane machines to the test. It was great to see the process from computer design, machining and laser etching plus seeing some new test rigs and machines put to use. You can take my opinion with a pinch of salt because of my sponsorship with these guys but honestly the quality of the products is insane! These same machines are making satellite parts so you know they have to be good, I wouldn't have approached them if I didn't think the products were awesome.
