Ohio Rocks: Geology of the Buckeye State

Kevin Magee, president of the Cleveland Geological Society, takes you on a geological tour of Ohio. By coincidence, Ohio's geological history encompasses almost the entire Paleozoic Era. There's nothing from the Cambrian, but it contains rocks and fossils from the Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, and Permian, as well as a smattering from the most recent Ice Age and on. Discover how this 250 million years worth of history is still around and beneath us. And meet some of the most fascinating specimens -- from enormous trilobites to gigantic armored fish -- from Ohio's fossil beds.
