DIY Bike Saddle Bag - MYOG

In this episode of zipworks I make a very minimal DIY saddle / seat bag for cycling. I tried making it as discrete and small as possible while still being able to fit the bare minimum puncture repair kit; a spare tube, tyre levers and a CO2 canister. It's 4x3x2in with a #5 zipper from HHH and a 1/4 seam allowance. The main fabric is 1680d ballistic nylon, which I think works great for this application since it is quite thick and sturdy which means it holds it shape rather well. Also it's water resistant which is a good thing because it's likely to get sprayed at some point from the back wheel. Last but not least, I think it's damn good looking - although thick it's somehow sleek och elegant. Sews really easily. Final weight came out to 1.6oz / 49g. The mounting system is a simple 1" webbing strap that is held in place by a webbing ladder in the back, wraps around the rails under the saddle of the bike and then clips together in the front with a side-release buckle.
