Exploring Thailands Islands: Koh Tao and Nangyuan. The coral reef off the coast of Koh Tao is teaming with life, making the island a popular dive and snorkel destination. The two main towns are located on the west side of Koh Tao, Mae Haad and Sairee Beach. The pier where you arrive and depart from the island is on Mae Haad Beach. The stores and restaurants in Mae Haad open early for catering to divers and early risers. Though it's a small town, there is no shortage of restaurants, open-air eateries and cafes. Sairee Beach is the center for nightlife on Koh Tao. There is a plethora of restaurants, bars and bungalows.
