Firefighters Battle Knightsen House Fire, Trailer Fire, Semi Truck Fire and Explosions

At 5:30 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire on Knightsen Avenue at Willow Oak Pl in the Town of Knightsen. While responding, it was reported that the vegetation fire moved quickly towards a home and caught the house on fire which extended to the attic. By the time units got on scene, this became a working structure fire which then caught a ½ acre of vegetation fire across the street also on fire. Responding along with East Contra Costa Fire was Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and CALFIRE along with AMR along with Oakley Police and CHP. One person was taken into custody for safety reasons and Oakley Police wanted to release the subject to family. He was taken into custody because he refused to leave his trailer which was near the fire. According to Steve Aubert, Fire Marshal, one person was confirmed to be emergency evacuated from a residence while in total, one single family home sustained major damage and multiple outbuildings and vehicles. The fire started in the back of the property where a male had been doing some grinding work and caught the dry grass on fire. No injuries were reported. Aubert stated power lines did go down which made for a life safety hazard and it took PG&E around 1-hour to respond to cut power to the property. He said some of the challenges in the fire was the access to the property, limited water in the area which did not have a water supply, so they were running water tenders. At least two people were displaced, which according to neighbors, the residents were in the process of moving and Monday was going to be their last day in the home and had moved all their items to the front room which caught fire. ➥➥➥ SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE VIDEOS ➥➥➥ Never miss a video from ECT.
