Was able to clear enough ice to launch the boat in pursuit of some Mississippi River walleyes and sauger. Lots of action, and was able to connect on a nice one. Also in effort to create more awareness of barotrauma, please try to avoid fishing at depths greater than 30 feet. Walleye and sauger do not release well when pulled up from those depths, and I think we as fishermen should be conscious of it in order to protect the resource. If you do hook up when fishing deep, reel up slowly to help them adjust to the pressure change. Plus the quality fish usually aren't usually that deep anyways, so better to just move shallower anyways.
