Pilgrimage to Lapchi 27th MAR-13th APR, 2015. Led by his holiness Drikung kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche. The most auspicious event in the year of sheep Milarepa Bom-Tsok in the blessed at snowy mountain, Lapchi. The year of wooden sheep will be an auspicious time to do pilgrimage to lapchi, which is one of the three holy sites and speech mandala of the yidam Chakrasamvara where by all the dakas and dakines form the three holy sites will gather. Doing pilgrimage and attending the puja at lapchi would generate such enourmous merit as if one had done pilgrimage to all the three holy sites. Lapchi Snow mountain is situated in the Southern part of Tibet and eastern part of Nepal on the border with Tibet , at a height of about 4850 meters. It is considered to be a very holy place that has been blessed by the presence of Siddhas and masters like Mahasiddha Saraha, Padmasambhava and Milarepa who meditated in the caves of Lapchi. Lapchi is closely bound up with the history of the Drikung Kagyu. Kyobpa jigten Sumgun had sent countless Vajrayana practitioners thereand in the centuries that followed many outstanding masters from the Drikung Lineage went to Lapchi to advance their practice. Many practitioners went on extended meditation retreats in one of the numerous sacred caves.
