From the Whoop 4.0 and Oura Ring, to the daily readouts on your regular Garmin, Polar and COROS running watches, loads of wearables now offer daily guidance on how your running, training and day-to-day life are impacting your 'readiness' to train. But some of these come with a pretty hefty subscription. So is there a cheaper way? For less than £10/$10, the HRV4Training app, on paper at least, can also tell you whether today is the day to go hard, or just go home. So is it a potential alternative to Whoop and Oura?
