Michigan Central Station, the train station opened in 1914. At its peak it was a testament to a thriving Detroit, with 200 trains carrying 4,000 people per day going through it. Our history ran through the train station. Herbert Hoover, Harry Truman, Franklin Roosevelt, Frida Khalo & Diego Rivera. It did its part during world war 2 troops & machinery moving through it on its way to Europe. In 1988 it was shuttered, the last train going through it & left dormant & decaying. The beauty of the art and architecture left for dead. 2018 Ford bought the train station & 36 years after its closing, June 6th 2024, being restored to its former glory, will be reopened. The brightest and latest star following the Book Tower, the Lions revival, countless restaurants and businesses. Detroit is thriving & reviving.
