Please read! When discussing Jane Eyre, I made an error in saying Mr Rochester's previous wife was Black, however I have misremembered this and her race is never made explicit within the text. There is some scholarly debate about her race as there are suggestions within the text that may suggest to her being of mixed-race and the implications of this which is what I think I was remembering when discussing the book, however I should have made this far more clear and I apologise for not doing so.
