Solution to astronaut puzzle: The first thing you want to do before anything else is make sure the 6th triangle (from the right, I'm going to refer to them by number from left to right for brevity's sake) has a Yellow marble on top and a Blue marble on the right. The puzzle cannot be solved if this isn't true for you, so pull the lever on the right until this is the case. Now that that's finished, you will need to pull the cranks until you have the correct combination of marbles in each of the circles above the astronauts. The combination will be the color mixture that produces the astronaut's color of marble: Green, Red, Purple, Blue and Orange. The triangles will always keep the marbles they originally had, the cranks DO NOT move the marbles around, they simply rotate the triangles (I mention this because I had a REALLY hard time wrapping my head around that when I was solving this on my own). Don't think of the marbles moving, imagine they are rotating triangles (represented in the diagram above). Okay, now that that's out of the way, here is a diagram of which marbles each triangle needs to have in each slot: -Triangle #5 needs the left marble to be blue, and the right marble to be red, leaving the exposed marble to also be red. Rotate crank #5 if this is not true. -Triangle #4 needs the left marble to be red, and the right marble to be blue, leaving the exposed marble to be blue. Rotate crank #4 until this is true. -Triangle #3 needs the left marble to be red, and the right marble to be blue, leaving the exposed marble to be blue. Rotate crank #3 until this is true. -Triangle #2 needs the left marble to be yellow, and the right marble to be red, leaving the exposed marble to be blue. Rotate crank #2 until this is true -Triangle #1 needs the right marble to be blue, leaving the top exposed marble to be yellow and the bottom exposed marble to be red. Rotate crank #1 for this.
