Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is a brand new remake of the 1992 SNES game by Natsume. Following Wild Guns Reloaded and The Ninja Warriors Once Again, the original developers have once again returned to one of their classics and completely overhauled every aspect of it. As usual, they've done a fantastic job with all of the changes and improvements they've made. They've added new playable characters (all with unique weapons and special attacks), new stages, new mechanics, and they even seem to have implemented a good scoring system, complete with online leaderboards. I just wish they'd create separate leaderboards for Normal and Hard mode; mixing them together is dumb. This is a playthrough of Free Mode with one of the new characters, Ame-no-Uzume. She can float above pits and water, and her dash can go through enemies and bullets. Her weapons and abilities are really strong too, so she's pretty easy to use. This run also shows a bunch of the hidden items that I wasn't aware of in my previous Story Mode playthrough. All of the secret 1UPs, healing items, bombs, and shields are important if you're aiming for a high score. I got most of them in this run, but there are at least a few more that I missed. This game won't be out in America for at least another month (for PS4 and Switch), but if you don't want to wait, you can get it right now on the Japanese PSN or eshop for around 4100 yen, fully translated into English (and without the censored character portrait, lol). I'm playing on the PS5, by the way.
