I've made lots of tutorials on the Sonicware Liven Texture Lab and granular synthesis, but I recently realized that I went straight into sharing things that were very specific or experimental, without covering some of the more basic ambient sounds, like drones, pads, textures, and soundscapes, that you can make and that are some of the main reasons why you'd want to use this device or do granular in the first place. So, this video is meant to rectify that. It might also serve as the first in a series, with the next installment being one where I go on to show how to record, arrange, and compose with sounds like these on a device like the SmplTrek. If anyone would be interested in that, let me know! Finally, I should note that there are variations, alternatives, more advanced/complicated approaches to all of these things, but I can't cover everything in a single video and this thing was already 40+ minutes long...
