The Multivan: Depending on the specification, there are one or two rotatable individual seats installed in the front row of the back of the Multivan. Both seats are anchored to the floor in the modified tracks, on which they can be independently snapped into their position, turned around or easily moved on rollers without having to be taken out. The seats and bench seat can, however, be taken out to create a large cargo space. There are ISOFIX retainers on each individual seat and on the outer seats of the triple bench seat. Anyone not wanting to retrofit child seats also has the option of ordering a single seat with a child seat integrated into it. It is also possible as an option to order individual seats instead of the triple bench seat. Mounted on rollers, the reclining bench seat is likewise anchored to the floor tracks and can be locked in any position in the back of the vehicle. Adjusting the bench seat could not be easier: regardless of whether it is being accessed from the passenger compartment or luggage space, after pulling a lever or loop, it slides smoothly forward or backward without being folded down. For converting it into a bed there is a further release lever. Once that is pulled, the back can be pushed down and a practically flat surface to lie on is immediately created in the back. Anyone using the Multivan to go camping may like to order the bed extension, which also gets fixed to the track system. The base version of the Multivan, the Trendline, traditionally offers one sliding door. The situation is different on the Comfortline and Highline. While a standard defining feature of the Highline is two sliding doors, this add-on is available for the Comfortline as an option. In these cases an optional middle table with luxurious functionality is provided. On the Highline the sliding doors open and close as standard by just touching the handle or pressing a button, as well as via key remote control. One or two electrically operated sliding doors can also be provided, if desired, for the other Multivan lines. The variability of the seating layout makes the back a veritable playground in terms of reconfiguration. From normal boot to large cargo space – everything is possible. A net partition, vertically hung as required, forms a division between cargo and passengers. A luggage roller shutter over the boot space provides a shield from prying eyes. Opening and closing the tailgate is especially easy. Aside from purely manual operation, the first level up from the basic version provides an automatic closing aid. It enables the tailgate to be closed with much less effort and has the latch engage in the lock with a significantly less obtrusive sound. Even easier to operate is the completely electric version. It opens automatically via the tailgate handle and closes by pulling a loop. Alternatively, it can be opened and closed by the press of a button via the remote control integrated within the vehicle key. That makes it easier, in particular, to close the tailgate, which is about two metres above the ground when open. In addition to the standard Multivan lines, the 'Generation SIX' special edition will also be available exclusively for the launch. It is based on the Multivan Comfortline and is enriched by a number of exclusive features that clearly set it apart from the standard model. Tinted windows, LED headlights and rear lights, fog lights with cornering light and a chrome package are, for instance, all included as standard. Also exclusively available as options are a total of four two-tone paintwork finishes with colour-coordinated decorative elements on the dash panel, plus 18-inch retro-design 'Disc' alloy wheels in two colours. The special edition is comprehensively equipped with electronic aids. ParkPilot front and rear, Side Assist with electric folding mirrors, cruise control and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) are just a few of the features included as standard. Also standard is the Composition Media radio system. In the vehicle's interior, seats in Alcantara, multifunction steering wheel and gear lever with contrasting stitching, plus fabric floor mats with contrasting edging are a feast for the eye. Meanwhile, heated seats and the Climatronic system ensure comfortable temperatures. Subscribe
