Daniel J. Morrell Shipwreck Galley and Stern

Imagery from the wreck of the Daniel J. Morrell's stern and Galley. The stern sits in 215ft of water off of Port Austin Michigan in Lake Huron. The water temp is typically 38f degrees on the bottom preserving these wrecks like time capsules in the cold fresh water. Signs in the galley can still be read and dishes still in the cabinets. The Morrell was just over 600 feet long and sank in November 1966 when it was torn in half in violent seas. The Freighter's stern motored another 5 miles before sinking.
