How to Automate Lists in Excel | Auto Populate Sequence | IF, COUNTA and MAX Function

In this Excel tutorial video, we gonna learn how to make a automate sequence in Excel that works even if you skip rows. So, this auto list sequence is very smart, anywhere you put date, the sequence works, like I said, even with blank cells. However, to make the sequence function in Excel, we are not going to use the sequence function it self instead, we are going to use three different functions in Excel. This functions are one of the most important formulas in Excel that you need to know. They are, the IF function, the COUNTA function and the MAX function. The SEQUENCE function in Excel, allows you to generate a list of sequential numbers in an array. For example, 1, 2, 3, 4. But, we need to be allow to use blank spots, I mean, to skip cells, so, in this case, the Sequence Function will not work. The IF function in Excel is one of the most popular functions in Excel. And it allows you to make logical comparisons between a value and what you expect. So an IF statement can have two results. The first result is if your comparison is True, the second if your comparison is False. We gonna use the If function in Excel to help Excel hide the sequence values whenever the cells is blank. The MAX function in Excel, finds the highest number in a range. It will only work for cells with numbers, so if you have cells with text, the function will ignore this cells. The COUNTA function in Excel, returns the count of cells that contain numbers, text, logical values, error values however, the COUNTA function does not count empty cells. So whenever you have something inside the cell, the Counta function will gonna return the number 1 as result, if you does not have anything, it's gonna return the number zero. #JopaExcel #Dashboard #HowtoExcel
