Fly Fishing the Dunajec River, Poland Day 4 - June 20, 2024

Day 4 of our trip started with a much colder morning. We euro nymphed and Donna did her best with 5 fish landed, guided by Maciej Kudlacz. It was great to catch some nice browns! In the afternoon,our guide Wojtek Kudlacz took Mai and I to the best pools with huge trout. Wading was challenging for us short fisherwomen, but with Wojtek we got there safely, and we were rewarded. I got 2 big browns, and Mai got several nice browns also. In the evening we streamer fished, Donna used her LTS Complete Graphene 13ft 8/9wt spey rod, LTS SCCC 8/9wt S123 Scandi headm, LTS Complete 40# shooting line. After a few casts, a nice brown grabbed the streamer, so it proved that spey rods work to catch trout on the Dunajec River. Although a smaller spey rod in 6/7wt or 7/8wt would have been more than sufficient to fish for trout. Really happy for a great day of fishing!
