My second race event. Threw myself into the deep end and did the full 125km course. Did it in 7h39m, made it under my 8hr target. Now that I have scoped out the full course and set some baselines, the aim is to make it under 7hrs next year. Bike: Canyon Exceed CF5 out of the box Tyres: Vittoria Mezcal XC Race 29"x2.25", 26psi(F)28psi(R) Camera: DJI Action 4 Post race notes (from a beginner's perspective) - Lots of ejected water bottles on course, stopped counting after about 10. Sturdy bottle cage very important. - Some Five & Three riders too eager to overtake at the beginning, be wary. - Next time I think I can do with less hydration stops. Two bottles will last me to Lewana I think. - Stay on the race line made by the front runners, more grip especially on downhills. Don't drift outside of the tight race line around corners, dramatic drop in grip level.
