Here is my rough translation of all his words. Hopefully, it is understandable to big fans of Loudness worldwide who don't happen to understand Japanese. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Translated by Mr.Tama~~~ Higuchi-san... Higuchi-san, it's too early for you to leave. A week before you passed away, when I contacted you to ask whether I might visit your place and cheer you up, you said, "No, sorry. I can't see you today. Actually, I'm so tired due to the ascites (abdominal dropsy) and a fever that I happen to have. I promise to get back to you later." Now you are never to return. It couldn't be harsher. We have yet to fulfill the promise we made when we set out as Loudness, to be a world-class rock band, right? Higuchi-san loved anything big, anything that is No. 1. As we used to be members of an idol band (*called Lazy), you were so slow to run and swim in TV shows, far from No. 1. Still, you ate the most, you drank the most, and your sound was the loudest. When we did a gig at Yoyogi Youth Education National Olympics Memorial Youth Center, we gathered one of the largest PA systems ever. The sound was so unprecedentedly loud that the Harajuku train station gave us a telephone call to complain: "Excuse us, but we are having difficulty in keeping our announcement clearly heard within the station..." For a gig at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall, hardly had we started a rehearsal before we started getting a whole bunch of complaint calls. Also, when we gave a dinner and floor show at Akasaka Prince Hotel, we were just wondering if we Loudness might perform at this tidy place. And, as expected, the phones on the front desk never stopped ringing immediately after we started the gig... Those were all what you Higuchi-san directed, right? You rock, I'm really impressed. I remember you were always saying every time we drank, "Loudness must give off loud sounds, since it's called Loudness." That said, you gave off loud sounds also as a Lazy, didn't you? When we Loudness restored the original members in 2000, Higuchi-san was more than motivated. Back then, as we performed at the Open-Air Stadium of Fujikyu Highland, Higuchi-san would proudly say that our explosive sound rode on the winds to go over Yamanashi prefecture and get complaints even from Nagano prefecture. I'll remember that smile on your face forever. Just at this time last year, we were producing an album of Loudness called "Metal Mad", which unfortunately ended up being Higuchi-san's swan song. Your drumming was just so awesome back then that I still can't believe now you are gone. In retrospect, at that time you were already in a fight against cancer while putting your whole heart and soul into the album we were producing. From your private life to your drumming, the way you lived was all nothing but rock. And that directly reflected on the drum sound that Munetaka Higuchi struck out, now I feel. I remember the sincere way you always tackled your drumming, fully utilizing the powerful and flexible muscles that you basically inherited from your dad and later brushed up further through lots of hard training. The dream from the outset of Loudness, which Higuchi-san and I promised to fulfill someday, is yet to be complete. So, while succeeding Munetaka Higuchi's spirit of rock, I'm gonna keep exerting myself each and every day to continue my musical career of Lazy as a member of Loudness. Rest in peace, Munetaka Higuchi. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's all. Many thanks for your reading. And just remember Munetaka Higuchi and his great drumming. ■
