Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi shine at 'Saltburn' premiere

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, two of the most popular young stars now in Hollywood, stepped out on Tuesday (November 14) for the premiere of 'Saltburn'. Robbie acts as producer for the film, which sees an unlikely friendship blossom between two students, the impoverished awkward scholar Oliver (Barry Keoghan) and the rich, aristocratic playboy Felix (Jacob Elordi). When Oliver suffers a family tragedy, Felix invites him to his gothic family mansion, Saltburn. However, all is not what it seems as things take a turn for the worse in the halls of Saltburn. The film is the brainchild of Emerald Fennell, who picked up the best original screenplay Oscar for 'Promising Young Woman' in 2021. Asked where her ideas come from, Fennell said, "I wish I knew. They kind of crawl out from under my bed in the middle of the night usually. Sometimes they go away again but this one never did. It kept with me for years and years until eventually I had to write it down." Elordi has seen his star soar during the Hollywood actors strike after festival showings of both 'Saltburn' and 'Priscilla', in which he played Elvis Presley. His colleagues on 'Saltburn' had nothing but good things to say about the Australian actor. Barry Keoghan said, "You know what? I learned a lot from that lad. He's quite intelligent and you know inciteful. He's like a brother and I mean that. I wish he could hear me say this." While Fennell praised Elordi's acting chops, saying, "He's just the most talented actor. Like he's truly one of the most talented actors I've ever met and you know, the part that he has in this is incredibly difficult and complicated and he just did an amazing job so he's like one of the greats." The adoration is nothing new for Elordi, as his part in the film is someone who is lusted after by everyone around him. Elordi said, "I think the best part about Felix is he breathes by being an object of desire but the best part is he doesn't really know that he is one so I wasn't really conscious of it going in. It's like he has this obliviousness to it so I got to be oblivious the whole time." 'Saltburn' goes on release in the UK and US on November 17. ........................................................................................
