Georgia - The Road to Russia in Our Grenadier | EP12

Episode 12 - Our plan to get to Central Asia was set and it involved driving through Georgia and Russia. We’d been looking forward to Georgia and although it’s known for the Caucasus Mountains, its rich culture, and wine, many people don’t make it to the remote desert area located in the far southeastern corner of the country. We were intrigued and we had time so that’s where we headed first. Its unique landscape makes you feel like you’ve been transplanted to the wadis of Oman or the great plains of Africa. It is a vast wild area with a semi-desert climate and home to a large variety of wildlife including bears, snakes, wolves, lynx, jackals, vultures, and more. We also came across some mud volcanoes! Even though we got to Georgia a little early in the season to explore all the tracks and trails around the country, you’ll see we definitely made the best of it! We wild camped the whole time apart from a brief stop in Tbilisi. Russia was next on the horizon.
