(4/13/24): Looking back at this video, I wish the structure was a little better. While everything I say is true to how I feel, it’s a little disorganized in that I talk a lot about characters and don’t dive into the whole “style/atmosphere” thing enough. Like I’m kind of rambling and there’s no straight narrative. It comes off as nitpicky in some areas. So I have made an alternate cut that’s less rambly and clearer in what my issue is:    • Why I Prefer Pre-2012 Era MCU (Altern...   —— Many people’s problem with the MCU these days seems to lie within story, writing, word building, tone, etc. Citing how it went downhill after Endgame. But for me personally, it went downhill long before that when Disney came in with Avengers, and fully fell by GotG and AoU. My main point in this video is talking about how the art style has changed ever since after 2011. How the movies went from a more Dark-Knight-type style with less CGI, shakier camera, a darker saturation/palette, more soulful music, and a thematically more grounded/realistic world, to more vibrant colors, more CGI, a cleaner look, whackier costumes, old cartoon physics, generic music, and a world that’s overall more akin to the comic books in terms of how silly and cartoony everything is. How this shift is overall less captivating for me in general as a fan of the more grounded direction. All in all this video isn’t an argumentative essay video as much as it’s just a lone guy sharing how he personally feels about the movies. I’m not trying to start a debate.
