It is said that the Lord created the liquid element first, and then he energized it and made the rest of the cosmos. Having this thought in mind Sri E. Krishna Iyer performed the plate and the pot dance, where he considered the plate to be the liquid element (the oceans) and pot to be the entire cosmos. This plate and pot dance was taught to him by K.C Varadachari. And later our master and teacher adapted this form of dance which was brought in Bharatanatyam technique by Sri E. Krishna Iyer.
