The Bog Visitors Centre up on The Stiperstones Ridge, had a wealth of information on the history of the area. Also including a lost mining village with a history of 200years of mining. But our focus was mainly navigating over quartzite deposited (around 480 million years ago), to identify the rocky outcrops on the ridge, (The Cranberry Rocks, Manfold Rocks, and the Devil's Chair.) Each outcrop had its own myths and legends. With time constraints as this walk unplanned, we didn't make it as far as The Devils Chair, so returned to the Bog's Visitors Centre for leaflets and books on the area.
