The President's Choice is a single barrel Bourbon that comes out from time to time through the Old Forester Distillery. The expression goes all the way back to 1890 when President of the Old Forester Distillery, George Garvin Brown (yeah, the Birthday Bourbon guy), gifted a single barrel of Bourbon to the Governor of Kentucky. In 1964, G.G.B. the 2nd, then President of Old Forester, brought the concept back and called it The President's Choice as the single barrel of Bourbon was labeled and bottled only for presidents or executives of other companies. This program lasted until 1971 but was eventually brought back as an expression that is available to the public.
