I've been meaning to do some slightly simpler and quicker patch breakdowns for a while, so here's an explanation of a super-easy patch based around the classic modular combo of Mutable Instruments Rings into Clouds... or in this case the Jak Plugg NanoRings clone into the Calsynth Monsoon clone. I'm definitely not reinventing the wheel here, but there's a good reason why these two modules are so popular, and with some careful modulation they can provide some incredibly organic and subtle results. In this patch I wanted to try using a constant rhythmic pulse (inspired by the music of Steve Reich) with arpeggiated chords to provide some harmonic movement. I'm using the Arturia Keystep 37 to provide sequences and arpeggios, and I'm adding modulation from the Instruo/DivKid Ochd, the SSF/DivKid RND Step, and the Transient Modules 7J joystick controller. That's it - there's no post-processing and no other other modules in the chain.
