Breaking down flamenco guitar rhythm and technique: solea and tangos (guitar lesson)

In this lesson we will analyze and learn two flamenco guitar styles: tangos and solea. We will learn the rhythm and the technique needed to play this songs in the compas (one round of flamenco rhythm, which is usually 4 bars of music). We will go through all the rhythms and will learn how to read it clap it and play it. Perhaps the best way to get started is to become familiar with the most common style of flamenco, called palo or kolok (from a guitarist's point of view). If you are a beginner and want to teach yourself flamenco, I strongly recommend that you don't go straight to the details, but instead dive into the accompaniment (flamenco rhythm and sequence) first and then the paros (style). This combination will allow you to fully progress by learning all the techniques and learning falsetto (small variations of the original melody), chords and rhythms of different palos (different styles of flamenco).
