Last year, Wrecking Crew Miner and Mine Owner Sean Adam sniped 3 pockets in the 'Roots Rock' section of the mine. Big Foot Pocket was a massive 4 foot deep by 4 foot wide pocket that revealed incredible clusters of Herkimer Diamond Quartz. The other two were pockets Jake Tubbs and Anatoly Bitny Wrecking Crew Miners opened up, and they found amazing crystals.Watch all of our episodes to see them all discovered! March 27th Sean Adam returned to the Big Foot ZONE and was able to open the pocket up more unearthing EVEN MORE OF THE CRYSTALS! see INSIDE the pocket, as these crystals are being unearthed. It's Early Spring here at Rock N Roll Mine in Herkimer County New York. For those that are unfamiliar with the area,, this is what we call "Upstate New York" and the Ancient Adirondack Mountains are the only things between Herkimer County and Canada. Rock N Roll Mine is at the base of the Adirondack Mountains in a Valley that runs along side the West Canada Creek. In the Winter, Sean Adam is the only person at the Mine. Sean is always at the mine working on safety, over burden, erosion and of course the Farm House which was built in 1840, and has withstood every harsh winter since then. It needs some work, to say the least, but it's a little bit better than a tent. Around the middle to the end of March a few days were warm enough to get to work in the mine cleaning up from last year and the winter erosion, which collapsed into the working face of the wall. The working face is what we call the area of the mountain that has been exposed and is fresh, untouched and ready to be explored for gems. Tailing are what we call the material that has been removed and looked through that will go to the next part of the process, the wash. We've all heard the phrase " It will all come out in the wash" well, when we clean off the dirty tailings we've piled into a specific area it reveals all the tiny mud covered Herkimer Diamond gems that we overlooked, or threw off to the side into the tailings pile. Some really beautiful gems are found when we do the wash, it's amazing sometimes to think.. that was in my hands but i threw it in the tailings. Some of the crystals we find in the tailings are World Class Crystals!
