In this talk, our speaker Lauren Maffeo, system designer at Steampunk, will offer an intro to data governance - the people, processes, and tools needed to create quality standards that you can automate within your pipelines. Whether you are a senior data leader or individual contributor, you will learn how to manage up, get the buy-in you need to build data governance, find the right colleagues to co-create data governance, and keep them engaged for the long haul. About Lauren: Lauren Maffeo is an award-winning designer and analyst who currently works as a service designer at Steampunk, a human-centered design firm serving the federal government. She is also an adjunct lecturer in Interaction Design at George Washington University's Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. Her first book, "Designing Data Governance from the Ground Up", is available through the Pragmatic Bookshelf. She is also the founding editor of Springer’s AI and Ethics journal and an area editor for Data and Policy, an open access journal with Cambridge University Press.
