This is Be Punx (KH-6009), a live concert of Japanese Punk bands recorded at an Toshima Public Hall on July 21th, 1985 (Thanks Burkhard Järisch!). This concert, only released on VHS and Betamax in the 80's, is one of the best recordings of the underground Japanese punk scene in the mid-80's. It holds nothing back and has a diverse list of punk bands, most of which found further popularity after this recording was made. Most of these bands were somehow linked to indie punk label Nagomu Records (owned by Uchoten lead singer, Kera). Enjoy this truly kick-ass concert! Fun fact: While researching this tape, I discovered that the lead singer of Bachikaburi, Tomorowo Taguchi, has had quite a colorful career from his punk band, to drawing erotic graphic novels, to appearing in adult films, to appearing in literally dozens of short films and dramas, to narrating commercials, and even to directing a few films. His most recent film, "Piece of Cake" (2015), won a number of awards.
